New leaders bring expertise in affordable housing, business strategy, technology, and community engagement as affiliate expands homebuilding efforts.
KEENE, N.H. — As Monadnock Habitat for Humanity continues its largest homebuilding initiative in recent years, the organization is pleased to welcome four new members to its Board of Directors. Their appointments strengthen the affiliate’s leadership as it works toward building four homes for four local families over the next two years.
Together, the new board members expand the organization’s expertise in affordable housing, business strategy, technology, real estate, fundraising, and partner family support. Their leadership comes at an exciting time as Monadnock Habitat grows its volunteer base, increases community partnerships, and works to build more affordable homeownership opportunities throughout the Monadnock Region.
“We’re entering an exciting chapter for Monadnock Habitat,” said Matt Keenan, President of the Board of Directors. “These individuals bring outstanding experience, fresh ideas, and a deep commitment to our mission. Their leadership will help us build more homes, engage more volunteers, and create lasting opportunities for families throughout the Monadnock Region.”

On Friday a volunteer crew from Bensonwood in Walpole installed the roof trusses and sheathed the roof.

On Saturday 603 Roofing donated the materials and shingled the roof while volunteers and board members worked inside framing and outside installing windows and doors. The vinyl windows and patio slider were made by Mathews Brothers in Belfast, Maine and the front entry door made by Belletetes‘ millwork shop in Jaffrey.
Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) has removed their recommendation to temporarily stop all building projects due to COVID-19 safety protocols. As a result the Board of Directors for Monadnock Habitat for Humanity has voted to resume our build in Keene for the Hundley family. Framing starts today with a small team made up of board members and our Safety and Building coordinators.
There will be opportunities to help on other phases of the build but they will be limited as we are required to more tightly control the number of volunteers on site to maintain COVID-19 safety standards. Keep an eye on future posts for more details.
